SOMETHING YOU CAN'T MISS 12/25/07

Every year The Eclipse throws a Christmas party and every year it's awesome and it's packed. This year they're having Wudun play and calling it "A Very Gotham Christmas". Gothic/Dark attire is very much encouraged, but it's okay if you come dressed in whatever. The DJ's will be Brian McKinnon, Rocky Luten, and Nick Strate. I'm sure this year will be just as good as the past years. Below are photos and video from 2005 with The Cadets, Julius Airwave, Devin Davis. This is the first time I have shown this video, but it's one if my favorites.

SOMETHING COOL TO DO ON FRIDAYS

If you haven't seen Vj Jaren spin music video's on friday @ The Pearl you should. A lot of people are like, what does that mean. It means he actually takes music video's (and he has everything old and new) and they are on dvd's. He puts two in and mixes, cuts, and scratches them like you would a record.

Here's a couple of the video's he made himself. These are mash-ups he doesn't play these all night mostly he just cues and beat matches. So don't think he's going to be mixing up your favorite song while your trying to dance.

i definitely don't want to be one of those guys that do show reviews. i know we all have our taste. i can say if you enjoy the following: being at a packed-out club, synth-pop, keyboards, a lead singer with a back-up singer who sings through a vocoder, people singing along with the band, being forced to dance due to the band's catchy tunes, and a male dance revue...then you would have liked this show. it sort of reminded me of a straight version of hedwig and the angry inch. i was left wondering how these guys who probably have nothing in common with me can make music that appeals to me from the first time i hear it.

If you missed seeing Lazerstar last week at TSI you really missed a amazing show. Chase Capo, the man behind Lazerstar, definitely has a good stage presence and is currently my favorite local band to watch perform live. His songs are full of energy and you almost can't help wanting to dance. If i was to describe the sound i would say he sounds like Of Montreal but performed by one person instead of five. Sorry the video is so dark.
