In case you missed it, The Faint rocked the house on Thursday night.
Opening was local Floridians, Summerbirds In The Cellar, who mustered a pretty decent crowd and reaction for an opening act.
The Show Is The Rainbow followed and stole the show with their shenanigans. 80's glam wig? Check. Sweaty shirtless heavy-set singer? Check. That big old boy took full advantage of his wireless microphone to get out in the crowd even as far as the upper balcony. Homeboy kept everybody in stitches with the bizarre and inappropriate filth that issued from his mouth, all in good fun.
And then, of course, The Faint brought down the house with their electrified punky dance sex-expolsion. I've been listening to them for a while now but this was my first chance to see them live. Very impressed. I actually thought they would be stranger-looking individuals based on their music style. Lead singer was rocking a Dr. Horrible look with his lab coat and steampunk goggles. The lighting was amazing which is Freebird's best selling point besides the expert sound-mixing. Unfortunately, the place isn't really set up for dancing and that's ultimately what you want to do at a show like that. Still, an awesome time.
Here's all the pics. They're a little blurry but I couldn't use the flash in order to catch all that pretty light.
